I started taking a monthly Brainspotting & Writing workshop. Today was my first time. We were given the prompt "I Believe: three things you believe as a person and three things you believe as a writer." Then we each picked a gazespot for about ten minutes and then we had twenty minutes to write whatever came up to write. I found myself gazing at my siddur (prayer book) that sits on my desk. As I gazed at my siddur, all sorts of thoughts came, and then tears. And then the urge to write:
I believe that there is a bigger plan unfolding. I believe that the hostages will come home. I know that some are already physically dead. I am sure that they are all partially or totally emotionally dead. Different.
But I believe in the power of healing. And I believe there is a Master Plan unfolding and the will one day be free. Free to fly above the torture and pain.
I believe in the good that is possible in each of us. I believe that everyone is having a chance to make their personal declaration of their position.
Digital tattoos that will forever been seen. Nowhere to hide.
What do you declare?
